Couples Holistic Counselling

Couples Holistic Counselling

Holistic Counselling focuses on mind, body, spirit and emotions and how these four elements intertwine. Allowing clients to understand why they are the way they are and how they can positively change for a happier and more peaceful life.

With Tereza’s experience in holistic Counselling, she helps couples embark on a journey of empowerment, healing, growth, development and love between two people that are married or in a partnership.

When couples enter the space of Holistic Counselling, Tereza delves into critical elements that recognise people’s spirituality, mental health, emotional and physical feelings which help partners understand why they are together and how they can better their partnership.

Critical Elements of Holistic Counselling

^

Physicality

Your body is your temple. During Counselling, Tereza discusses with patients any physical concerns that may arise and how they can contribute to wellbeing and day to day living such as lifestyle, diet and physical activity. When a patient’s physical wellbeing is a concern, Tereza recommends what treatments, activities and lifestyle changes will enhance positive physical wellbeing and lifestyle.

^

psychological

Exploring thought process and patterns to understand what bothers patients, why they feel a certain way and develop a course of action for improvement and change.

^

spiritual

In many cultures, they continue to practice the teachings passed on for generations that the body and soul are connected, not separated. Exploring and expressing one’s spirituality allows patients to gain a more profound sense of belonging and appreciation for the body have and overall wellbeing and consistent positivity and peace in their lives.

The philosophy of Holistic Couples Counselling

Consider Holistic Counselling as a tree with branches and leaves that make it what it is, which is the science of human experience. The conversation between counsellor and clients stems from lived experience over time, which has enabled clients to develop and understand mind and body on a deeper level.

Approaches incorporated into Holistic Counselling include:

  • Humanistic psychotherapy,
  • Holistic health,
  • Solution-based resolutions,
  • Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT),
  • Meditation,
  • Guided imagery,
  • And bodywork.

Tereza and the Life Balancing Clinic utilise these approaches to Holistic Counselling which is why clients leave happy and return to develop self-care and self-love continuously. Cognitive behavioural therapy is something that Tereza focuses on heavily with her clients due to its effectiveness and how it leads to clients feeling optimistic about their current state and what the future brings.

What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy?

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a branch of psychological treatment that is proven and demonstrated to be successful for various circumstances that require solutions such as:

  • Depression,
  • Anxiety disorders,
  • Alcohol and drug abuse,
  • Marital problems,
  • Eating disorders,
  • And mental illness.

CBT’s main objective is to offer solutions and coping mechanisms to patients, which provide relief and peace to the mind and the physical body feeling less tense and anxious. Changing thinking patterns and ways of reacting to situations ultimately allows people to face problems and fears instead of avoiding them, which will enable clients to leave the Life Balancing Clinic with a clearer mind and handling day-to-day tasks more effectively.

When entering the ten-week program with Tereza, you are accepting the following Holistic principles that make this program an effective and positive couples’ program:

  • Respect for one another as opposed to reflecting on problems.
  • Accept your partner as they are and what influences how they live their life.
  • It is a fundamental human right to be loved, accepted and acknowledged.
  • Offer reverence to your partner and their life.

Ultimately, all healthy relationships have a strong connection, energy, solid and positive communication and most importantly, a foundation of trust to allow couples to accept and understand who they are, thus honouring all that people are before entering into a relationship or partnership.
